It's Monday! What are you Reading? (sept. 12)

It’s Monday, what are you reading? is hosted by Sheila over at Book Journey.

I am a little embarrassed to say that I haven’t been doing as much reading lately as I could (or want or should). But I have finished a couple of books lately. I am now done The Help by Kathryn Stockett on audio. It was a very satisfying 'read'. At the same time, I was very sad when it ended. It was nice to remember how much I like audio books (when I make time). I may have to start making a point to listen to audio books.

I gave up on Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin. I was looking forward to an intelligent chick-lit read. And it may have been, but I could not make it passed page 50. I found that I didn't like either character enough to continue. I really like both actresses, so I am hoping the movie is better.

Right now I don’t have an active kindle read, but I have downloaded a couple.

As for my paper book (or books this week) I am reading Fight Club, by Chuck Palahniuk. It is very.... twisted. Not sure what I think about it yet. It is an interesting ride though. I am also working on Where Rainbows End by Cecelia Ahern. It's a nice light break in between, or an easy read for when I am tired. It is all done in email, letters, postcard and IM's, so it's a quick read.

What are you reading now that the pace is changing again with fall coming?

If you want to play too, go to Sheila’s page and leave your link there, but also please let me know so I can come visit. Thx =D

I tried Fight Club a few years ago but determined it wasn't really my thing.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. You should definitely read Bet Me. It is one of my faves, and this week was actually a reread. I've reviewed it before though, and you can find it here:

Oh, oh. I'm supposed to read Something borrowed nest, actually by Thursday. I hope I like it better than you did.

Oh, I just loved The Help - I bet it was wonderful on audio! I went to see the movie last week with someone from my book group, and the movie was really good, too - better than most book adaptations!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and taking the time to comment. You really should give Pillars of the Earth another try. It is a big one but very well-written and compelling.

abook- yeah, i'm not sure either, and yet i keep reading. the book is definitely nothing like the commercials for the movie. haven't decided if i will finish or not. i will head over and check that out next, thanks for the link!

carol- i hope you do too. i can see why it's a hit, it had great potential, it just wasn't for me. still holding out hopes for the movie though...

Sue- oh, it was, because it was read by several different women. even if you have read the book or seen the movie, I would recommend listening to it. i am looking forward to the movie myself. i think i will have to go on a hunt today, so i can move pillars of the earth back up my list... i did enjoy what i read...

thanks for stopping by y'all, have a great week! =D
