it's monday! what are you reading? (aug. 1)

It’s Monday, what are you reading? is hosted by Sheila over at Book Journey.

Just a quick one cause it’s a long weekend. I love long weekends! But, I hate having less time to read. So busy!

But with that said, I did finish The Awakening by Kelley Armstrong. I have to say, the ending to this one was much more satisfying than the end to the first. And yet I am no less excited to read the third.

I am still working on Sarah’s Key by Tatiana De Rosnay. I am loving every page of it and can’t wait to see what happens next. But. As I think I said last week, I can only bear to read it a couple sections at a time. The second half is easier. I wouldn’t say the focus has changed, but there is more to focus on. (Curious enough to check it out yet? Heh)

So this week I am hoping to finish that one up. I have also downloaded Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase for my kindle read. I thought a romance would counterbalance the sadness nicely. And so far it’s a historical romance that isn’t overwhelming so. Think I’m going to enjoy that one too.

I am hoping to start something completely different, and maybe a little fluffy, when I am done with these. I am thinking Strawberry Shortcake Murder by Joanne Fluke. I read the first in the series a while back (this is the second), and enjoyed it. So, I thought this might be a good time to give the second one a go.

What are you finding yourself reading this summer? Serious ‘thinking’ reads, or light ‘fluffy’ reads?

If you want to play too, go to Sheila’s page and leave your link there, but also please let me know so I can come visit. Thx =D

Great reads - I read Sarah's Key a few years back with my book club.

I have yet to try the Armstrong books but I would like to.

I like to switch up like that as well .. if a book is too serious, I need something light and fluffy next to round it off. Sarah's Key has been on my wishlist for quite a while!
